My three year old son loved his "a for apple" book so much that he slept with it under his pillow every night! The "a for apple song" was a great way for him to learn all the sounds of the letters. He loved doing the "Abracadabra!" part, and was very motivated to learn how to blend letters together and sound out three letter words. He is now an avid reader!

The Phonics Wizard Reading Series is perfect for beginning readers. Children learn best when they are actively involved, and they love singing and moving to this simple, yet catchy song! Sharon Selby understands children's natural playfulness and energy. This book is full of fun, multisensory ideas, games and step-by-step activities that encourage children and help promote feelings of confidence. It is a delightful introduction, for early readers, to the joy of reading.

Thank you, I am really, really impressed !!! I spent a 1/2hr this morning doing the Phonics Wizard reading program with my daughter and she LOVED the song, the wizard, the books... everything... I am SO HAPPY!!

I have used a few reading programs with my five year old son. He can read well, but does not really grasp the vowel sounds in unfamiliar words. Also, when he writes he often misses the vowels completely. This Phonics Wizard program has not only made it easier for him to truly understand his vowels, it has also made it easier for him to write using all the vowels and most importantly, have fun doing it. Sharon Selby’s program is very simple, concise and very well thought out, I cannot wait to use it on my three and one year olds.

My five year old loves the cd - we've just been focusing on the song for now and it's been great - I wish we'd had it earlier, but better late than never! We sang the "a for apple" song with him last night and he loved it - so much that this morning he came down the stairs lugging the boom box and book, and we've been doing it over and over at the table for the last 10 minutes! He did it with me, then with his eight year old brother (who is a great teacher!) and now he's doing it by himself as I'm writing this and making breakfast! He loves it - thanks so much for introducing it to us!

Ms. Selby taught my daughter to read, at age 4 yrs. at the Japan International School. My daughter loved the "a for apple" song and book, and we still keep it as a keepsake. Our daughter continues to love learning and reading. Her ability to read at such an early stage in life gave her a head start in writing too. We think her start in reading with Ms. Selby gave her confidence in learning. With Ms. Selby, learning IS fun!

As a children's librarian, I know that there is always a huge demand from parents for phonics books for their children. The Phonics Wizard is a program that I would definitely recommend for parents interested in teaching their children to read in an enjoyable non-pressured way. Ms. Selby really knows what appeals to kids--the song is catchy, the photos are instantly recognizable, and the "wizard" builds confidence in children learning their phonics sounds and letters. Most of all, it's fun! Well done, Ms. Selby!

We are LOVING the Phonics Wizard materials. We are playing the CD in the car and my 6 year old has had great success reading all the beginner reader books. She happily played with the flashcards tonight, and is really excited. She says she wants you to write "more, more, more". She now says the books from the library are "tricky", but yours are great! I think the books have given both of us a fresh excitement about her reading. It's so much more successful when you can sound out all the words!

Thank you for introducing us to the Phonics Wizard! My daughter (who is in Grade One) loves it, and my son who just turned four is loving it too. Before “The Phonics Wizard” he was not at all interested in learning the alphabet or trying to read, but now he loves to listen to the Phonics Wizard song and sings along with it - this has given me hope! This program has sparked his interest. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with young children.
